From timeless classics to spellbinding fantasies and steamy romances, my reading over the last 12 months has run the gamut. Out of the 26 books that I read in 2022, here are the four that have stayed with me.
Charlotte by Helen Moffett
In this lyrically written novel, we reexperience key moments from Pride and Prejudice through the eyes of Charlotte Lucas, as well as discover what became of her after the book’s events. This is a must-read for Austenites. Read full review→
North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell
North and South is an underrated classic. Romance, masterfully crafted characters, social and cultural commentary, and an atmospheric setting: this Victorian novel has it all. Read full review→
These Twisted Bonds by Lexi Ryan
This follow-up to These Hollow Vows closes out the duology on a thoroughly satisfying note. It is an escapist delight featuring romance, action, major revelations, and even a smattering of court politics. Read full review→
The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber
The Ballad of Never After was my most anticipated read of 2022, and it did not disappoint. It was every bit as enjoyable (if not more) than its precursor, Once upon a Broken Heart. Read full review→
